To whom this may concern,

My name is Naomi Armstrong. I am a first-generation law student. During undergrad, I was a recipient of the Pell Grant as a result of my parent's enlistment in the Military. I am currently enrolled as a Full-Time Day Student at the FAMU College of Law and am writing this essay to demonstrate my financial need.

I have been supporting myself through student loans acquired from the government. Since being in law school, I have relied on the support of my family and financial aid to provide for books, housing, and other expenditures. As a Full-Time student, I am unable to work. Thankfully, I my friends and family have been able to assist me. I recognize that I need additional financial support to afford necessities and reduce debt I have acquired in pursuit of my dreams of becoming a lawyer.

For this reason, I have applied for several scholarships and have worked diligently to remain focused on performing well academically. Despite the financial difficulties I have experienced, I have not allowed the pressure of maintaining my financial obligations to derail me from pursuing my aspirations. Receiving this scholarship would motivate me to continue pursuing my aspirations in excellency and focus. Furthermore, it would ease the burden of relying on my parents and friends to provide for me as I would utilize the funding to pay for expenses related to preparing for graduation next semester and the Bar Exam.

Upon passing the Bar Exam, I will be entering into the workforce, determined to make a difference in the community and create a legacy.

Sincerely,

Naomi R. Armstrong
